Kuwait suspends all flights to and from South Korea, Thailand, Italy, Iraq, Iran

Tuesday, February 25, 2020

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Monday suspended all flights to and from South Korea, Thailand and Italy due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

In a press statement, the DGCA said the decision was taken upon a recommendation from the Ministry of Health following the confirmation of several COVID-19 infections in the three countries.

Earlier Kuwait had suspended all flights to and from Iraq and Iran due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

It stated that all expats who visited these countries over the past two weeks will not be allowed to enter the country, even if they have valid visas. At the same time any Kuwaitis who traveled to these countries will be put in quarantine at special health facilities. No new entry visas will be issued for those coming from the three countries.

Meanwhile, Bahrain's Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) has announced the suspension of all flights arriving from Dubai International Airport and Sharjah International Airport for a period of 48 hours, effective immediately.
