Kuwait record highest electricity consumption

Kuwait's electrical load index recorded the highest consumption in history by recording 14,778 megawatts, surpassing the peak of 14,700 megawatts recorded last year.

However, the Ministry of Electricity assured that they could meet any energy demand, and that consumption is still below the expected maximum for this year of 15,600 MW.

The high summer temperature experiencing the country these days coupled with the corona lockdown where many of the residents are at home during the day time could increase the electricity consumption.

@Sk
Prebello was trying to be sarcastic after all the hardships they introduced against expats.

But Kuwait govt. has the right to chase out expats to reduce the great imbalance in the population of Kuwait. Since expats have proved quite resilient to every austerity measure taken by govt., it is time for Kuwait to use stronger tactics like smoking rats out of their rathole.
Best way is to increase cost to such an extent that it becomes untenable to continue any longer in Kuwait. What do you think?

I am surprised govt. has not increased the unit cost of electricity for expats. Why delay? Come on quickly, you want to chase the expats out or not? Make life as difficult as possible, still people will not leave. At least govt. can make some money ya.
