Kuwait announces regulations for sale at cooperative societies

Kuwait Minister of Trade and Industry, Khaled Al-Roudhan, issued a ministerial decision to regulate sales at consumer cooperative societies in the country.

According to new instruction, a resident can purchase only from his area cooperative store. A Valid civil ID is a must to prove the area of residency. The cooperative stores are prohibited from selling to non-residents of the area, according to the address registered in the civil ID.

This decision is valid from the Friday night and the decision also calls on citizen and residents to rationalize their purchase and not to purchase and store items beyond their normal need.

Al-Roudhan said that the decision is to reduce gatherings and prevent crowding as a precautionary measure to reduce the spread of the Corona virus.
