Jazeera Airways announces start of flights from new dedicated terminal on May 22

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, officially inaugurated the Jazeera terminal (T5) at the Kuwait International Airport, announcing that it will start welcoming passengers through the terminal starting Tuesday, May 22.

The inauguration was announced in an event held at the terminal on Sunday, May 20, and attended by officials from the Kuwait Directorate for Civil Aviation, government entities, partners, travel agents and press.

The airline announced that all flights arriving to Kuwait on Tuesday, May 22, from 12:00pm will arrive at the Jazeera terminal while departing flights will gradually be routed to the Jazeera terminal starting Tuesday. All departing flights will be fully served from the new terminal starting Sunday, May 27.

Speaking at the event, Jazeera Airways Chairman, Marwan Boodai, said: “We are very excited to welcome our first passengers on Tuesday. The new terminal was designed to facilitate their journey and provide them with a seamless travel experience thanks to a capacity exceeding 2.5 million passengers annually and state-of-the-art facilities that offer passengers advanced self-service check-in alternatives, a modern design to ease the flow of passengers, retail offerings, lots of parking spaces, and most importantly, a quick and simple 90-meter journey from parking to boarding. Our fast-paced travelers no longer have to worry about traffic at the airport”

The first terminal owned by a non-government airline in the Middle East, the Jazeera terminal will ease traffic congestion at the Kuwait International Airport.

The terminal covers a total area of 4,750 square meters and can handle an average of 1,200 bags per hour.

Schedule of flights departing from the Jazeera terminal

Check-in process

Twelve check-in counters are located at the ground floor level, of which two are dedicated to business travelers and baggage drop-offs for passengers who have checked-in online. Two car park check-in counters and self-service check-in kiosks will be made available in the parking structure and the terminal to enable passengers to check-in.

The terminal has its own passport control desks at departure and arrival, with only one security check after passport control and none required at the gates due to the new passenger flow system designed to separate departing and arriving passengers. The terminal connects directly to the Jazeera Airways dedicated gates B1, B2 and B3 at the Kuwait International Airport.

Short-term parking

The terminal is connected to a parking structure which accommodates 350 cars and gives passengers access to the terminal through a connecting tunnel.

Long-term parking: Park & Fly

Complementing the customer-centric terminal, Jazeera Airways’ Park & Fly service will connect passengers to the new terminal through a shuttle. Located at the Jazeera Airways headquarters opposite the Amiri Terminal, Park & Fly is ideal for passengers who opt to leaving their car at the Airport for a nominal fee of KD2.500 per day. Passengers can park their car, check-in, drop-off their baggage and enjoy a shuttle transport to the new terminal.

New shuttle service: Ride & Fly

Jazeera Airways launches on May 22 its newest shuttle service, Ride & Fly, enabling passengers to take a shuttle from dedicated bus stops in Kuwait, check-in on board and travel to the new terminal.
