Indian national taken into custody for posting inflammatory religious content on Facebook.

Indian national, hailing from Kerala, was taken into custody for posting inflammatory religious post on his Facebook. Fahaheel police came to the restaurant where he was working as a restaurant supervisor and took him into custody for publishing a post, which insult the religions sentiments.

He posted the content as part of a debate on the ongoing CAB issue in India. A group of people came to his work place and reported the matter to his owner and later to the authorities.

It is common that many Indians are now posting their opinion supporting and opposing the CAB act. However, Kuwait have “zero tolerance approach” towards potentially inflammatory religious content on Social media including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp. It is strongly advisable that Indians should stay away from posting inflammatory religious contents on social media and respect the law of the land.

Most of Indians including ones posting here are saying follow the law of land, I have a simple question to them, why only follow when outside India, why not when in India as well? The current CAA / NRC debate is exactly the same.

We should respect the law of Kuwait. The one does not respect their own faith is insulting others. We came here to work and earn and should not involve in any other illegal activities.

It is not a Question of Mallus or Kadappa - but they are part of our country "India". We should not fall in Political or Religious issues or Riots as we came here to earn bread for our daily need. Our family in India is waiting for us and we all came here to fulfill our and family dreams. We should respect the laws of Kuwait. So, please Respect & follow the laws of Kuwait, work hard, earn and go India to see our waiting family.
