IndiGo to operate 23 repatriation flights from Kuwait

IndiGo on Thursday said it would be operating 97 repatriation flights between Kerala and four countries in the Middle East to bring back Indians stranded there amid the coronavirus pandemic. 23 of these service will be from Kuwait. Others include 28 from Doha, 10 from Muscat and 36 flights from Saudi to Kerala.

Till now only state-owned Air India and Air India Express were allowed to take back Indians who wished to go home.

"Adhering to all precautionary measures, the flights will be operated between Kerala and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Doha, Kuwait and Muscat," the airline said in a press release.

Earlier, in a press conference this afternoon Indian Aviation Minister has said that Indian private airlines has shown interest in joining the Vande Bharat Mission of repatriating Indians from different parts of the world. He said they will be allowed to join in and later maybe International airlines also could join in the mission. He didn’t divulge any details.

IndiGo has been granted nearly half of the total 180 repatriation flights allotted to private airlines, the budget carrier said.

Respected sir
I think we all are Indians and India has other states too...and other peoples also working here..Why not a single.flight to Ahmedabad..Divide the flights to different locations in country..so that respective peoples can reach their homes..Even bangalis are good in this pandemic they are providing free transportation and medical as humanity..
and we after ready to pay amount still dont have flights to our respective destinations.

its just an request to re arrange flights to all destinations as before..
afterall we can only Request..as common man..you are all the leaders..power..money..and mind games..but as for humanity i hope your decisions and heart might change.
regards
HJP

Dear All,
All states in India have equal importance in-front of Govt of India...Flights are operated in accordance with the respective state''s readiness to occupy stranded personnel in abroad and quarantine facilities arranged by the corresponding States/UTs.

Kindly understand the facts and reality.
Please do not spread the false statements in wrong directions.

Dear Viewers,

I think arranging flights to kerala only is not fare and injustice towards the stranded Indians. India means Kerala - Kerala means India. Why it is happening especially in gulf and other places where this Vande Bharat Mission operations are being held in these pandemic days. Because of majority of Mallus. This is not from few days or year back since 72 years these mallus are manipulating the facilities and keeping other away. Here in Kuwait since the day the flights arranged just calculate that how many flights have been arranged and how many gone other states except Kerala then you will get the figure which clearly indicates your importance.

I seriously condem this malfunction of AI & private airways. This is not fare at all.

Until now allotment politics going on, unbelievable !!
If airspace is open or special permission granted, then what does it matter 180 flights or 1800 flights?? Since this is a paid service, keep running the service as much as the flight carriers can manage safely without overworking man or machine!! Please allow maximum carriers who are willing to participate !!
Quarantine facilities are a serious problem & govt. should seize control of large stadiums, grounds, auditoriums, halls and set up makeshift camps. ONLY Indian army/ armed forces have the know-how, discipline & manpower to execute and manage such scale of projects smoothly and swiftly. State govt. & other private players will make a mess and start blame game if something goes wrong (like the Kalmadi scandal during Commonwealth Games 2010).
Even paid amnesty transport service is better than delayed or no transport. Kuwait Airways & Jazeera Airways are providing this service free of cost for ALL the amnesty recipients.
OTOH looks like Indian govt. is learning as they move along like small children and new parents. Still, it is better than nothing. Jai Hind !
