Under the patronage of Ministry of Awqaf (Kuwait), Ladies Wing of Indian Muslim Association conducted a webinar on Breast Cancer Awareness with a renowned medical Doctor, Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair, a community secretory of IDF, on 17th October 2020 at 6 PM. The President of IDF Dr. Amir Ahmad gave a short Inaugural speech. In which, he appreciated the efforts and steps taken by IMA - Ladies Wing for the awareness program on Breast Cancer. The keynote speaker Dr. Susovana gave a detailed lecture on the subject giving deep insights on causes, treatment and preventive measures of Breast Cancer. During her talk Dr. said early detection and getting appropriate medical attention can help save lives. Evidence is growing that physical inactivity increases the risk of breast cancer. People who regularly exercise have a lower chance of breast cancer. Exercise as little as 1.25 to 2.5 hours per week of brisk walking reduced a woman’s risk by 18%. Walking 10 hours a week reduced the risk a little more. She also added that Let all ladies make regular Breast self-examination a routine and annual mammograms under clinical supervision. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year and affecting countries at all levels of modernization.
