Large number of the Indian community joins hands with popular community portal IndiansinKuwait.com to celebrated International Day of Yoga. As part of the celebration, many of our readers had sent their Yoga videos and selected videos from our readers are published on IIK Facebook account /IndiansinKuwait.

People from all walks of lives including kids and adults celebrated the International Yoga Day actively by sending their videos of yoga practicing sessions to IIK. Earlier, similar to last year, IndiansinKuwait.com invited our readers to celebrate International Yoga Day by recording video of doing Yoga and send it to us.

People in India and around the world are marking the seventh International Day of Yoga. But celebrations have been scaled down this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The idea for an UN-mandated International Day of Yoga was first proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2014. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi called Yoga an "invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition" and called for the "harmony between man and nature" through Yoga. This initiative was backed by as many as 177 nations, including the State of Kuwait.
