IIK held Award Nite for Young Reporters; Lakshmi Nanda Madhusoodhanan bags Best IIK Young Reporter 2019

The much appreciated IIK Young Reporter program held their annual gala Award Nite for the Year 2019 and given out awards to various IIK Young Reporters. The Award Nite was held on Thursday, 31st October 2019 from 6:00 PM onwards at Gurukul Auditorium, Salmiya.

Sixteen New IIK Young Contributors were felicitated with certificates from IIK and Four New IIK Young Reporters got their Badges.

Then came the awards for the Young Reporters and Contributors who contributed to the YR program by sending in quality articles out of which some of the articles were selected for their relevance to the student community, for their originality and quality of writing. The awards were sponsored by Al Rashed International Shipping Company and Gurukul.

1. Rashmi Nair, student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was awarded The Most Heart-warming Article for article titled “Our Materialistic World”

2. Lakshmi Nanda Madhusoodhanan, student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was awarded the Best Article for the Independence Day Supplement for article titled “Our Duties as an Indian Citizen”

3. Krithika Karthikeyan, student of FAIPS- DPS was awarded The Most Relevant Article for the Students for article titled “The Dual SIM- Card Phones”

4. Mohammad Yusuf Khan, student of Indian Learners own Academy was awarded The Most Rationale Article for article titled "Science, a Blessing"

5. Ann Mariya Sabu, Student of Carmel School was awarded The Most Social Conscious Article for article titled “Women – The Epitome of Tenacity”

6. Shreya V Arun, student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan awarded The Most Teacher Dedicated Article for the article “Mama Priya Samskrutha Adhyapakow”

Lakshmi Nanda Madhusoodhanan was declared as Best IIK Young Reporter for the Year 2019. Earlier IIK had nominated 3 IIK Young Reporters / Contributors and conducted a written test. Panel of Judges selected the winner based on Good linguistic skills, Report-writing style etc.

Krithika Karthikeyan,student of FAIPS- DPS, Mohammad Yusuf Khan, student of Indian Learners own Academy and Lakshmi Nanda Madhusoodhanan, student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan were the 3 Nominated IIK Young Reporters/ Contributors. They received medals during the award ceremony. Best IIK Young Reporter received a branded Watch , Trophy and a Certificate from IndiansinKuwait.com.

Mr Venugopal, Project Manager of Al Rashed International Company, Mr Surya S Prakash, Mentor of IIK Young Reporter Program and IIK Officials together presented the Awards.

IIK also announced Best School for their Contribution towards this program for the year 2019. Based on Highest number of new registered Young Reporters and Contributors, Highest Number of articles published on IIK for this program and highest number of awards won by the students for the year 2019. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan - IES was awarded Best School Contributor for the year 2019 with a trophy from IndiansinKuwait.com. All Students from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan present at the event received the Trophy during the Award nite.

IIK Young Reporter program is to encourage the writing skills of the young students from the community. Students from 6th standard to 12th standard studying in various Schools here in Kuwait can become part of this program. Proud of you Young Reporter of Bhavans Kuwait. This is not the first time the students from Bhavans are champion reporters. Congrats to the school as well. Thanks to IIK for promoting such quality program.
