ICSK Khaitan Celebrates World Vegan Day

Tuesday, November 5, 2019

On the World Vegan Day, Friday the 1st November the Green School Project (GSP) of ICSK Khaitan was inaugurated by Hon. Mr. Agnello Fernandes, the Joint Secretary, Board of Trustees, ICSK. The Principal Mr. K.G Shirsath and Vice Principal Dr. Sam were also present.

Nearly 40 children enthusiastically attended this function even though it was a holiday. They looked very smart wearing caps with pictures of fruits and vegetables. The programe had begun by planting saplings of pomegranate, guava and mango in the front garden. All the children actively and energetically planted saplings of various vegetables in the Shilu Mary Memorial Veg Garden in the school premises. The teachers of Green School Project, led by Mrs. Anjana Dhinoji and all other non-teaching staff actively participated to make it a grand success.

Thus, the Green School Project will surely instill and inculcate the love for a Greener Earth and create a better environment for the future generation as was done by ICSK Khaitan ever before.

Mr. Agnello appreciated the concept of Green School Project and extended his full support in making it a success. He informed the gathering that ICSK Management has resolved to plant 20000 trees within next one year anywhere in world with support of its entire family of Students, Parents and Staff. ICSK has also developed a gamified feature in its app called ICSK Cloud for uploading images of tree plantation and accomplish progressive levels to reach at last an ‘Ozone protector’ level on planting 100 trees. The function finally ended with distribution of Veg Snacks to all.
