IBAK KBC Kuwait Badminton Challenge 2019 Concludes

Three days of badminton extravaganza, IBAK KBF Kuwait Badminton Challenge came to an end with the IBAK ALL STARS defending the crown in the team event. The IBAK ALL STARS have been victorious for the 5th consecutive year. AL Arabiya Victor turned runner-up, while the journey of Team 5.30 and IBCK were stopped at Semifinals.

In a hard fought Final IBAK All Stars edged Al Arabiya Victor for 3-2. The competition offered visual treat for the spectators while world class players showcased their talent.

The Tournament was inaugurated on Friday 8th Nov 2019 Morning at 10.00 am by H E Sri Jeeva Sagar, The Ambassador of India to Kuwait in the presence of Capt. Ali Al Marri, Vice President Badminton Asia Confederation at Saad Al Awzi School (IBAK Gym). The Ambassador of Ukraine graced the event as special invitee for the event accompanied by Mr. Adel Abdullah Al-Hammad, General Manager Boubyan Bank. Tourney was played in two formats, invitational team events for the Clubs and open events for the individuals. Open event has 18 categories including the kid’s categories. Around 250 players participated in the 3 days event including the visiting players from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Tournament turned out to be a hugely successful event, surpassing all the previous years in terms of quality of competition, crowd involvement, conduct of the tournament in general and of course the efficacy of the organisers. More than 100 IBAK officials helped in running the tournament which involved scheduling and match control, court management, umpiring, line judging, visa & accommodation, Transport arrangements, food and Beverages, Announcement and crowd control, Cleaning and court management, trophies, certificates and prizes arrangement, Sponsorship and Registration, First Aid, Jerseys and Uniforms and such like. The IBAK EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE thanks all the sponsors for their support and will look forward to conducting the KBC 2020!!!

IBAK is committed to improve badminton in Kuwait. As part of this efforts fourth badminton coaching clinic of year 2019 has started from 11.11.2019. The coaching clinic imparted by Indian coach Dr.T Maran will go on for the next three weeks.
