Expatriates over 60 years of age face termination from companies

A number of expatriates over 60 years of age without a degree are losing their jobs as companies forced to terminated them as the uncertainty on their residency status continues.

According to Al-Rai Newspaper report, companies that terminated the jobs of their expat employees aged over 60 were forced to take this step in order to limit the risks of a long wait for the government’s decision.

As the issue of banning renewal of work permits for residents aged 60 and above is still awaiting a decision, residents who face layoffs are unable to find another job in the country, the report added.

Allah rehem kare. Almighty show mercy on us.
Not everyone have luxury of saving handful amount.
Most of blue collar job or labor earn hand to mouth.
People earning around 500 with families here save nothing or very less. Their savings will become zero in a year or two.
Problem here is we don''t have pension or huge retirement benefits.
Still thanks to Kuwait, We live here upper middle class life , better than starving at home land.

Yuni suggestion is correct. After 60 how long they can live in the earth so they should take rest not think about money . New generation will get job instead and energetic workforce will get for jobs. My suggestion expat over 60 should not give visa to work. Take rest.

Mr. Yuni, do you live in the UK or USA? There is no social security benefit for someone who works all their life in Kuwait and go back to India. If they don''t work, will the Govt of India give them a pension or their son and daughter in law provide a monthly stipend? Who will pay their bill? Life after 60 ain''t for free!

After 60 Year expats must resign and leave the country for good. This is not about the money but we all have life we need rest and still working at 60 Years and spending more time at work rather then family does''nt make any sense.
May be some people who have taken Loan and need to repay they have their own personal reason.

@Yuni

Well said.

In fact expats over 60 with a degree also should not be working. Surprisingly expats who have spent more than 3 decades outside are still hanging around and trying their best to please their bosses for job extensions.

I don''t understand why people are working after 60. Instead of working they should take rest and enjoy their life after that....no need to go behind money always and it will be helyfor young generation to get vacancies.
