Expatriate can now submit residency renewal application online

IIK Staff Reporter Wednesday, December 25, 2019
Expatriate can now submit residency renewal application online

In a major step towards the complete online renewal of residency permit, expatriates can now submit the residency renewal form online.

The Ministry of Interior has opened a new service on its website where an expatriate or the representative of the company (mandoub) where he works, can fill out the form for renewing residency or obtain a visit permit online. This will avoid submitting the printed application at the residency renewal department.

The new online service includes filling in all the data and verifying them and then obtaining a receipt. Expatriates can submit the receipt at the residence departments to complete the rest of the procedures manually related to renewing the residency or obtaining a visit permit.

The service is available now at Ministry of Interior website https://t.co/ct2EHQI7Me

they purposely put certain fields like country n occupation in arabic so if you can''t read arabic this service is of no use to you .... its just for arabic speaking people... I know arabic but the occupation section is not worth it..... at least the online insurance is a relief

Today I went to residence department @ Riggae after filling out the online residence renewal application form and it was a total disaster. Normally if we have the typed application, they check and receive that and ask us to leave. Procedure over in few minutes. Few minutes (or hours) later we will get the SMS.

Today after showing them the online form''s receipt, they were discussing among each other for few minutes about how/were to apply the 10KD stamp and finally asked me to type a new application form and go and wait the service hall inside. took about two hours for getting it done.

Conclusion: Dont make online application until they introduce online payment system also.

The occupation selector in the e-form is a headache, there are 1215 different occupations in the drop down list and even if you select the language English, the dropdown menu is still in Arabic. I have compiled a google translation of all the occupations.
open the google spreadsheet https://bit.ly/37d7Qx9
Hope it will help you to choose correctly
