In line with the Kuwait Mobile ID Application, the Traffic department is planning to digitalise the driving licence and vehicle registration paper. The plan is to either incorporate driving licence details and car registration details in the Kuwait Mobile ID app or to create a new app for this, local Arabic daily Al-Rai reported quoting sources.

According to the report, this idea came after the success of the Kuwait Mobile ID application and its adoption in all government transactions in the country. This will relieve the citizen and residents from carrying the physical card at all times.

Authorities are also planning to enable digital technology in violations. For example, any violation recorded will send immediate notification by text message to the violator so that he can know the value and time of the violation.
