Driving license, 60+ decisions harms the national economy, says Human Rights Diwan

The Head of Human Rights Diwan Ambassador Jassem Al-Mubaraki described the news regarding the withdrawal of the driving licenses of expatriates as ill-considered, and is a discriminatory decision that does not comply with international laws or human rights. Such decisions will harms the national economy, he added.

Al-Mubaraki also described the "60 + expatriates" resolution as "unthoughtful and inhuman," stressing the need not to exaggerate the imposition of fees that exceed human capacity.

Responding to local media Al-Qabas, he said that so far the government has not made its decision on both the issues and there is no clarity yet. He added that the bureau does not accept both approaches regarding imposition of fees and the withdrawal of licenses.

The decisions that they are taking are completely wrong. Its like throwing away all the expats in for the sake of citizens and survival.

Of course, all the kuwaities needs job nowadays and expat population must be reduced. But, wise decisions must be taken for gradual transformation. Rather than replacing the expat jobs with kuwaities, they can keep the existing expats and stop future intake of expats. Develop more business that will provide job opportunities prioritizing the kuwaits.
