DGCA warns passengers to check cabin baggage rules before departure

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued a statement for all departing passengers to check cabin baggage rules with their airlines for weight allowed for baggage that can be carried on board. Generally departing passengers carry handbags or cabin baggage which are beyond permissible weight of 7 kgs for economy class and 11 kgs for business class and first class.

DGCA also urge the passengers to contact them via WhatsApp number 22200161 for any inquiries.

Allowed Cabin baggage should be increased to min 9 kg. and maximum of 10 kg. In out of 7 kg. 4kg. is the weight of briefcase & 3 kg. only remain for the goods.Other high class can remain 11. 7 kg is too less and very hard to adjust............................
