Curtain Raiser event held in Kuwait for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-2023

Embassy of India, Kuwait organized a curtain raiser event on Thursday, 24 November, for the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD)-2023 which is going to be held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh from 8-10 January, 2023. The theme of the 17th PBD is "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal".

PBD-2023 is going to happen after a gap of four years in physical format. Sixteen PBD Conventions have been organised till date. 16th PBD was conducted in a virtual setting in 2021 during the pandemic.

Chargé d’ Affaires, Smt. Smita Patil in her remarks invited members of Indian community in Kuwait to participate in large numbers in PBD-2023. She highlighted the significance of India’s diaspora in furthering the India story. She mentioned the unique features of this year’s PBD which will be one-of-its-kind opportunity for diaspora Indians to connect with their roots and brainstorm over

ways to contribute to the growth and development of India.

During the event, presentations were made explaining the registration formalities and logistics arrangements to the participants; as well as tourism opportunities in Indore and the State of Madhya Pradesh were also highlighted.

The last date for group registration by availing 25% discount on registration fees for PBD-2023 is 30 November, 2022.

As a special gesture, Madhya Pradesh Tourism on the request of members of Indian diaspora has reduced the hotel rates so that more people can participate from all over the world.
