Bhavans SIS celebrates 74th Independence Day of India

74th Independence Day of India was celebrated by Bhavans Smart Indian School in the virtual platform with great enthusiasm. The great day that emanates liberation, peace and joy was honoured by the management, staff, parents and students. It always remains a special day for the Indian diaspora to enjoy the sweet joy of remembrance in this second homeland, Kuwait. Due to the prevailing circumstances, the joy of togetherness was limited to virtual mode, but the spirit of the victorious day remained afresh in the minds of the viewers. This auspicious day was graced by the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East – Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, the school Principal - Mr.–Mahesh Iyer, Vice Principal – Ms. Albin Daisy and KG Supervisor – Ms. Rajni Menon.

The order of the day was amazingly done by the emcee students – Jemimah and Jonathan of grade 11. The pleasant day starting off with the welcome address by Sneha Mary Joe of grade 9 poured the message of sweet welcome to all the gathered members. The highlight of the day was the astounding way in which all the proceedings of the celebration, such as the march-past of BSS (Bhavans Service Scheme) cadets and unfurling of the flag by the Principal were done from the school ground, by taking all the necessary precautions which included social distancing and face masks. The school Principal was ceremoniously escorted by BSS cadet pilots – Nifansa of grade 8 and Immanuel of grade 7 to the flag hoisting area. The Guard of Honour was perfectly staged by our staff - Ex NCC cadet Kishan Kumar with his eminent team.

The live telecast from the school verily revived the true flavor of the celebrative mode. India’s presidential address on this Independence Day was read by the school Principal to help us remember the essence of the day and stay connected in all paths of life. A colourful dance was brought out by the group of students filling the aura with festive view. The splendid performances by the Primary students representing the freedom fighters just emerged as the great work of resurrecting the characters they have impersonated. The melodious song to help us remember the joyful thought of freedom carried us away to immerse in the delightful singing of the students. The moments on ‘Prayer of Peace’ which had the management and a few students of grade 11 passing the candle to each other explained the theme of solidarity and oneness that is vital at all times. The grand ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Harithsree Balaji of grade 8. Thus the significant day’s ceremony ended with great pomp and show.
