Authorities reiterated 2 KD fine per day for residency expired after September 1st

The sources at residency affairs stated that sponsors of thousands of expatriates have not yet submitted requests to amend the status of residency or to obtain a temporary residence for those whose residency expired after September 1st.

Those expats whose residency has expired after August and have not amended the status will have to pay KD 2 per day. MOI has called upon sponsors, heads of families to rectify the status and pay the fine.

Earlier, the ministry had announced that due to COVID-19 lockdown, for those whose residency expired till August 31st will get an automatic extension of their residency till November 30th. However, for those whos =e residency expired from September 1st will not get this benefit and they will have to pay KD 2 per day.
