After a long gap of 18 months, Indian schools in Kuwait welcomes students to classrooms

After a long gap of 18 months, Students of Indian schools attend the classroom studies today, Sunday, September 26th, with all preventive measures in place. As per the Kuwait Government decision, the offline classes started from today in all Indian schools, and a number of students attended the classroom early morning.

Students wearing school uniforms and masks started arriving at the schools in batches keeping social distance. School buses are allowed to carry 50% of their capacity only. Many students were dropped by their parents in private cars. All schools have arranged temperature checking for students before entering the school premises.

"We are ready to welcome our children with all precautionary measures in place," said Mr T Premkumar, Principal Indian Educational School - Bhavans Kuwait.

"The classes are in a hybrid format where a limited number of students attend the classroom, and the rest will attend the same class online," Mr Premkumar said.

All schools have equipped their premises with proper markings and social distancing. Touchless sanitizers are installed in some of the schools. Temperature screening devices are also installed in many of the schools. In addition, the school staff will be checking the temperature of all students, teachers and staff at the entrance. Proper spacing is maintained across the school. Automated sanitiser dispensers are also installed across the school.

Many of the Indian schools are following an alternate class approach where students are divided into two batches, and each batch will attend the classroom students on alternate days. Schools like Bhavans Kuwait are following a hybrid format where a limited number of students attend the classroom while others attend the class online. Many schools are starting intermediate classes from October 3rd.

Students of 12 years and above who choose offline classes must be vaccinated or produce weekly PCR results as per the ministry direction. "We are very much happy to visit the school after a long gap of one and half years. Also, the school have taken care of everything like the proper spacing of the common areas, sanitisers, mask etc.," one of the students shared his excitement with IndiansinKuwait.com.

What a spectacle we witnessed today morning at Indian Education School Bhavans. A team of staff led by their principal was there in front to greet the kids. Amazing scenes around the campus with so many teachers sitting and taking the temperature of each and every kid and recording them patiently. The excitement of kids and the smile on their face tells the long story of 18 months. The dispersal too was well planned. We pray that school continues this kind of safety measures and ensure safety oof our kids.Thank you principal and staff for your effort

Happy to see the kids back in school. Let them enjoy their school days, as pandemic has taken a heavy toll on them.

However schools should not drop their guard down, and have to ensure COVID 19 protocols are followed all the time.
