What the festival of lights truly gives us.

What the festival of lights truly gives us.

Diwali, the festival of lights. Celebrated by residents all over India, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". In fact, Diwali is the most celebrated festival in India! Children run around in traditional attire, Gujiyas are made, and to contribute to the festive atmosphere, everyone decorates their homes with candles, lighting, and rangolis as well!

Diwali is indeed a festival of happiness where people come together, meet each other, dine together, and have fun together as well! The celebrations last usually for a week. Just like every festival does, Diwali brings many people together to share their happiness and divide their sorrows. And this is truly the best thing this festival does. Regular festivities such as decorations, shopping, cooking, etc. are only materials and do not last for long. But this exquisite festival brings people together, and builds stronger relationships as well. It gives people memories to cherish, and moments to remember. Along with the light of candles, Diwali shines the light of lasting relationships as well. One week or more of joint families uniting to celebrate, talk, laugh, and dine together, and meeting new people, what more can someone want from one festival!

Diwali is the happiness of India, and it remains to be one of the most diverse and unique celebrations around the globe. Wherever Diwali is celebrated, numerous people come to spend time together, and have lots of fun. And that is the true beauty of Deepawali, the festival of lights!
