The Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expats Association (FOKE), a community association for the people of Kannur district, will celebrate its 17th anniversary "Kannur Mahotsavam 2022" on Friday, October 7 at Mahboula Innova International School Auditorium, FOKE officials informed in a press meeting.
The program will begin at 9:30 am with the third phase of their Arts Fest competitions for FOKE members. The cultural event will start at 4 pm. Orchestra led by renowned playback singers Vidhu Prathap, Ranjini Jose, Shihab Shan and Shabana along with a performance by renowned mentalist Nipin Niravat will be the main attraction for the evening event.
The 15th 'Golden FOKE' Award, instituted by the organisation will be given to Shri. C.V Narayanan Master, FOKE officials informed in the press meeting. Shri C.V Narayanan Master is the Principal of Dharmashala Model Blind School, Kannur, where he helps the study of several blind children in the district. The award function will be held at a later date in Kannur, officials said.
On the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of Dr. Sukumar Azhikode, FOKE also announces 'Gurusagara Award' for Kuwait based author Shri. Dharmaraj Madapally for his novel "Kappi". He was choosen among the Malayalam writers living in Kuwait. The Gurusagara Award will be presented to him at the Kannur Mahotsavam venue.
Meritorious awards will also be distributed to the children of FOKE members who have excelled in classes 10 and 12 this year at the function.
FOKE will also hand over the keys for the house they are constructing for Ajitha, a native of Narath in Kannur district. The key handover is planned at a later date this month at Kannur.
