ICSK Khaitan Goes Global with Cambridge IGCSE Curriculum

The Indian Community School Kuwait, Khaitan commenced the world’s most popular international qualification; the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum in all splender on May 10, 2022 at the school campus. The eventful day in the history of ICSK Khaitan began with an inagural ceremony in the school auditorium. Ms. Suchitra Sen, Head of Business Development - British Council Kuwait graced the occasion with her presence as the Chief Guest of the day.

The programme commenced on a divine note with the recitation of versus from the Holy Quran followed by the playing of the national anthems of Kuwait and India. The ceremonial lamp was conjointly lit by Ms. Suchitra Sen, the Chief Guest, Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath, the Principal, Ms. Sushmeeta Prakash, Vice Principal, Ms. Bhavyata Avasthi, Academic Coordinator, and Ms. Minerva Ramesh, the coordinator of IGCSE. The principal Mr. K.Gangadhar Shirsath, welcomed the august gathering. An invocation dance by Ridhi Bali of Grade 7 changed the atmosphere of the auditorium into that of a surreal realm. Mr. Amer Mohammed, the Honorary Secretary to the Board of Trustees, on behalf of the Board, aired his best wishes and congratulated ICSK SLT on their remarkable accomplishment of the commencement of IGCSE curriculum at ICSK, Khaitan. He assured the commitment of ICSK management to offer the International Curriculum at the most affordable cost with the proven standards of the school over 60 years. He also informed the gathering that the decision of starting this International curriculum is taken purely for the benefit of students in order to offer them a global platform and exposure and to make them future-ready to fulfil their career goals as per the demands of time globally. The Hon. Chairman to the Board of trustees, Mr Shaik Abdul Rahiman too congratulated the team ICSK Khaitan for their successful launch of IGCSE and conveyed his best wishes for its future.

Ms. Suchitra Sen, the Chief Guest was presented with a memento by the principal as a token of love, respect and gratitude on behalf of the ICSK fraternity. While addressing the gathering, she exalted the efforts of the school management for making this historic journey happen and conveyed her best wishes to the first batch of IGCSE at ICSK, Khaitan.

The parents present at the event expressed their satisfaction and thanked the school management for opening this avenue to their kids within the campus in the most feasible manner. “Our kids are very much with the world now!” Said a parent, while the other one remarked, “Our kids are not going to miss any opportunity of International Education and that’s a great satisfaction for us.”

From tip to toe, the inaugural ceremony was coordinated and conducted by the students of the first batch of IGCSE at ICSK, Khaitan. After the inaugural ceremony, the students were given a warm welcome to their new abode of learning, a classroom with state-of-the-art facilities. The programme was well coordinated by Jessica Sharon, Bashshar Ahmed, Reesha Prasanth, Zurain Farhan and Fahad Fawzan of Grade 9, IGCSE. The emcee for the day was Aysha Jamil of Grade 9, IGCSE. The few parents, who could make it to the ceremony expressed their profound gratitude to the school’s novel enterprise, which has added yet another feather to it’s ever-widening cap of accomplishments. And, the students embarked on their journey along the less trodden path which would make all the difference in their life later on.
