'Sanskrithi 2022' - A Cultural Festival was held at the Bhavans Smart Indian School, Kuwait, calling for the glory of India's diversity.
The festival aimed to introduce the students to the various religious, cultural and harvest festivals and different nationalities, languages, cultures and customs celebrated in the country during April. The event was organized as part of the year-long project 'Know more about India'.
Mahesh Iyer, Principal, Smart Indian School, addressed a special assembly on the occasion in addition to Vishu in Kerala, Poothandu- the Tamil New Year, Ugadi- the Andhra-Telangana festival, Gudi Padhwa- the Maharashtrian festival, Baisakhi- the festival of Punjab, the celebration of Bisu in the eastern states of Mizoram, Tripura and Assam, Poyla Baisakhi of the West Bengal and Easter of the Christian community. He pointed out that the sum of all celebrations and rituals is the unity of hearts in his message highlighting ‘ UNITY IN DIVERSITY’.
Through the festival stalls set up by students and teachers, the whole school experienced a great message of unity in India's diversity. Students and teachers welcomed guests with traditional costumes and local cuisines.
An exhibition of paintings by students was also held as part of World Art Day. The 'Easter Egg' painting competition and the school-level chess tournament organized by the Physical Education department were also held on the same day.
School Vice Principal Albin Daisy, KG Supervisor Rajni Menon and Program Coordinator Shafna, and teachers Riddhi Gondalia, Bhavitha Bright and Rekha Raveendran coordinated the celebrations.
