Bhavans IES Emerges Triumphant in iSmash Badminton Tournament

Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait, offers an array of opportunities for its students to hone their talents and gain exposure to competitive and recreational sports. Over the years, the students have built resilience, team spirit, developed physical and mental toughness and surged ahead in academics. The ace athletes of Indian Education School, Kuwait, displayed their exemplary skills in badminton when they took part in the iSmash Badminton Tournament 2021, which was held in Ahmadi on October 22, 2021. At the end of the tournament, Bhavanites achieved glowing glory.

In the singles for boys under 11, Liyan Fen Titto bagged the first position and in the category of boys under 17, Avaneeshwar Veeraprathaban secured the first position.

In the single for girls under 17, Neha Susan Biju notched up the first position and Sumitra Murugayan finished as the runner-up, and in the singles for girls under 9, Olivia James emerged victorious, and Hafa Sajid finished as the runner-up. Neha Susan Biju became the winner in the under 15 girls’ singles

In the doubles for boys under 13, the team of Chris James and Liyan Fen Titto won the first position, and the team of Neha Susan Biju and Sumitra Murugayan finished as the runner-up in under-15 girls’ doubles.

The promising players of IES were well applauded by the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon and the Principal of Indian Education School, Mr. T. Premkumar. Bhavanites competed fiercely in the competition, and gave a good account of themselves in the matches against the formidable teams of other Indian schools in Kuwait.
