One day, when Muhammad was in deep thought in his favorite cave, an angel named jibreel came down from heaven with a message from Allah jibreel said, “Read” Muhammad replied “I cannot read.” Jibreel hugged and squeezed Muhammad asking him to read a second time. Muhammad replied, “I cannot read.” This time jibreel hugged and squeezed him still harder and said, “Read in the name of your Lord, who has created everything.” Muhammad who could neither read nor write finally repeated the words after the angel jibreel, with the help of Allah, the all mighty and the all wise.
It was so scary that he ran home to Khadijah and said, “Cover me! Cover me! Khadijah asked Muhammad what had happened to him. So he told her the whole story about the angel jibreel in the cave. Khadijah believed his story without a doubt and said that Allah would never disgrace him, for he was a good man who helped others.”
Khadijah along with Muhammad went to meet her cousin Waraqa bin Nawfal, a blind man with lots of knowledge about Allah.
He asked Muhammad to tell him all that he had seen and heard in the cave in the Mount Hira. As soon as Muhammad finished telling him his story. Waraqa, the blind man said to Muhammad that the angel jibreel was the same one that was sent to prophet musa , by ALLAH before him. I wish that I was younger or live until the day your people would drive you out of Makkah,said waraqa.
Muhammad was shocked! Not long after this meeting waraqa died and the angel jibreel was not to be seen for sometime.
