“Committed to make your visit to Embassy a pleasant experience”: Ambassador Sibi George address the community

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sri Sibi George addressed the leaders of all community associations and groups in Kuwait on a virtual event held at Friday, December 18th. “My endeavor is to make your visit to the Embassy a pleasant experience and to continue to improve the consular services and welfare measures”, he said to the large number of various Indian associations virtually attended the event.

Anyone who need a help and support are our brothers and sisters. They will receive a warm welcome at the Embassy including a lunch and air ticket in each deserving cases, Ambassador said.

We are in constant touch with the authorities to address issues such as the ban on air traffic between India and Kuwait etc. We are making steady progress and will keep you updated, he said.

Ambassador Sibi George, who took great initiative to engage with all Indian associations and groups had begun many outreach activities after he took charge in Kuwait. Embassy had reinstated Open house, multi lingual feedback forms, Suggestion/Complaint Boxes etc to bridge the gaps. He had reviewed an earlier decision to de-register many of the associations and groups in the past and reinstated all associations.

Ambassador, during his speech, thanked the doctors, nurses and other medical personnel in Kuwait who work day in and day out to save lives, in our fight against Covid 19 pandemic. He also thanked many community members and various associations who took several steps to help our brothers and sisters in need during the most difficult days of the pandemic. He urged everyone to continue to offer their voluntary services, particularly to the vulnerable segments of our society, in this hard time.

In his speech, he seeks all the community members, their support and assistance to strengthen the relationship between India and Kuwait. “When each of our community members currently employed in Kuwait, do their assigned job with dedication, sincerity and honesty, they earn respect for themselves and for our country”, Ambassador said.

He urged each of the associations and groups to come up with ideas to further deepen the friendly relationship between India and Kuwait as next year Embassy will be celebrating 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations with Kuwait and also celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.

Embassy in recent weeks set up three outreach platforms ICN, IPN, IBN. ICN (Indian Cultural Network) is a platform to highlight cultural diversity and art forms and to recognize and promote the artistic skills within the diaspora. IPN (Indian Professionals Network) is a platform to learn from the expertise and experiences of our distinguished professionals here and imbibe the best practices. IBN (Indian Business Network) is platform to showcase India’s economic and scientific transformation and to highlight the billion opportunities that India offers for business partnership. Similarly, in order to promote Indian culture and our rich literary heritage, Embassy also launched a Thematic Library project.

He requested everyone to invite their Kuwaiti friends and partners to visit India once the Covid pandemic is over.

During the speech, he announced the launch of ‘Ambassador’s Cup Annual Debate’ and an ‘Ambassador’s Cup Elocution Competition’ for school children starting 2021.

During the event, Ambassador also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions organized by the embassy in the past few months.
