ONATHANIMA 2010, United Onam carnival of Kuwait Malayalees, will be held on Friday, October 29 at Indian Central School Open Ground, Abbasiya. It is in the auspices of THANIMA (The Human And Nostalgic Interaction of Malayalees Abroad) the Onam family fest of Malayalee community being conducted. Mr. Ajai Malhotra, Ambassador of India to Kuwait and famous Malayalam Film director Mr. Sasikumar, will be the Chief Guests’ in the program. Celebrations will begin at 5 PM.

Combined with the program, the Sixth National Tug ‘O War championship for San Celia Ever Rolling Gold Cup will also be conducted. More than 15 teams from all around the country will take part in the championship. The first runners up of the contest will be presented with Blue Line Ever Rolling Trophy and the second runners up will get Jiju Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy. The winning teams will also receive prize money and the team members will be awarded with individual medals & certificates. Like in the previous years, Inter-school girls’ Tug “O War contest also will take place as part of the national championship.

The championship is conducted as per the rules of Tug of War International Federation (TWIF). National Championship is the biggest Tug of War Fest in the Gulf region with the participation of around 300 athletes. Colourful cultural procession, march-past of the athletes, Maveli Ezhunnallathu, Folk Songs, Musical Fusion, Smriti Pooja (Homage to departed people of eminence) and releasing of the souvenir which incorporates directory of Kuwait Malayalee organisations etc. will be the highlights of ONATHANIMA 2010. The arrangements for the mega event has been completed - organisers informed in a press release. /div>
