15,000 traffic violations per day

Even after string checking and issuing tickets too the motorist, the traffic violations are increasing in the country according to latest report.

Al Qabas daily reported that an average of 15,000 traffic violations are recorded in the country per day, which is 645 traffic violations per hour. In total, traffic planning and research department recorded 4 million violations since the start of the year until Saturday.

500,000 violations were recorded by women where as 3.5 million violations committed by men. Stats also showed that speeding topped the number of violations, followed by running red lights.

The report also added that 400 violations were recorded against policemen for speaking on the phone while driving, while hundreds of the motorists were involved in texting while driving.

Really shocking indeed!
Wonder what percent of these violations are committed by expatriates. Any clue? It will give more insight of the problem.
