Diwali Celebration with NRI’S

“As the candlelight flame, Your life may always be happiness' claim; As the mountain high, You move without sigh; like the white linen flair, Purity is always an affair; As sunshine creates morning glory, fragrance fills years as Flory; with the immaculate eternal smile, attached to u mile after mile; All darkness is far away, As light is on its way.”

Diwali a festival of light and hope celebrated by Hindus and mainly by the country Indians is one of India’s most remarkable festivals of all time. In addition to that it is also one of the most memorable where there is a victory of good against evil. You might have heard of all these points when you were being told by your parents or your teacher. Before when we were kids we used to think that this is all boring and this will not be helpful to our life and we all just to play with crackers because that’s the most fun thing while we celebrate Diwali but we just don’t think of this one question why are we celebrating this festival but as we start becoming older and older we start to understand the significance of Diwali.

This year Diwali is going to be celebrated on 12th November 2023 and me and the whole world is very excited to celebrate this tremendous festival. In fact, the kids have become so excited for Diwali that they have started counting days for when Diwali will occur.

I remember when I was a child, we used to celebrate Diwali with my whole family with great joy and happiness in the old times of India. We used to start of this day with the Ganesh and Lakshmi Prayer, before we weren’t even allowed touch the sweets. I enjoyed watching the crackers getting busted with my friends and family. I had enough people who loved bursting crackers and it was really the unforgettable time of my childhood.

But enough of my childhood experience, apart from the people living in India the NRI’s are the people that feel sorrow and excited while celebrating Diwali.
Generally, the Diwali season is the prime time during which NRI’S feel extremely homesick which is further rubbed in by constant wishes from relatives back home by programs and news of Indian channel. This is the time when NRI’S feel whether it was worth living the festivities hustles, fun, and frolic back home and settle here instead. The Diwali holidays, cracker, and lighting; can the same be replicated here?

Yes, there are celebrations abroad in every Indian household, but can the original feeling even be brought back? It is this time when NRI’s miss home the most, get patriotic outbursts and value their hometown like never before.

At the end of it all, it's the roots that you hold on to, the values you impart and the manners you teach your children that are the deciding factors. These times can essentially be the deciding times, testing times, those that can be cherished forever and breed togetherness to the highest degree. So yes, we might not be able to celebrate the Diwali the way we used to do in India, but we are not far behind. After all, we are the products of India, and we will never lose our sense of being Indians.

One always must think about his origins and ponder about such things and, in turn, think about his homeland, his country and ways to serve it rather than getting patriotic only during such times. Such times are a sensitive time, but it also gives one a way to think about how lucky he is to be born with such a culturally rich country. In fact, how many of us even know the cause of these festivals? Not implying that the ones in the country do, however, we must strive to make that difference. Also, always make it a point to celebrate each festival with its spirit. Nothing enriches you and makes you happier than this. As Mahatma Gandhi said, "be the change you want to see". Always strive to be the emissary for the same. Drag all your non-Indian friends too in your Diwali celebrations and show them what a rich country you belong to.

Even though the people of India are far away from their families the culture of Diwali has not died till now.

The sun does not shine there, nor do the moon and the stars, nor do lightning shine? All the lights of the world cannot be compared even to a ray of the inner light of the Self. Merge yourself in this light of lights and enjoy the supreme Deepavali.
