Shukran Kuwait

Kuwait is a place where generosity is common,
the people are nice and the heat is hot often.
There are rolling hills of desert that stretch for miles,
the visitors who come here want to stay for a while.

We have buildings and towers that light up the night,
Our unique cuisine is delicious and you may want to take a bite.
We have green island and mirror house that give such view,
And with 4 million people you’re sure to meet someone new.

Kind are the people I meet along the way.
Undeniably hot but the breezes make my day.
Wholesome, golden, sunset skies,
Are incomparable to candle eyes.

On liberation day we celebrate our people, our homes,
Our pride and our country.
Celebrations and fireworks, flags and parades,
Those that fought for freedom for decades,
Wanted us to be free forever and not live by those who offer injustice.

The people rejoice and dance with hearts so merry.
There are parties, parades, dancing and more,
It’s a time to remember the invasion and those captured before.

Hala festival begins in the spring,
Because the desert land begins flourishing.
The eid lasts for several days,
And the days are filled with feasts, gifts and family.

I love this small country,
That I know.
Thank you, Kuwait,
You’re my home.
