My Life in Kuwait: My Second Home

Life in Kuwait has been full of surprises and opportunities for me. Although I am an India citizen, I was born in Kuwait and have spent most of my life here, a place that feels like my second home. This beautiful country has shaped my personality, values and ambitions in countless ways. It has influenced not only my academic journey but also my growth in extracurricular activities, while introducing me to a rich blend of cultures and traditions.

Academically, living in Kuwait has given me access to a multicultural learning environment. My school ICSK Senior School allows me to interact with students and teachers from diverse cultures and perspectives. The teachers here encourage independent thinking and creative problem-solving this has helped me become more open-minded. I have been fortunate to participate in various science exhibitions, quizzes, debates and other academic activities that have boosted my confidence and developed my skills in public speaking and teamwork.

In addition to academics, Kuwait has also nurtured my love for extracurricular activities. I have developed a passion for sports, especially football. Playing football with friends after school has taught me the value of teamwork and perseverance. My school also offers opportunities to participate in cultural programs and art competitions. Every year, I look forward to performing in the cultural events that celebrate Indian festivals like Diwali and Holi, while also taking part in Kuwaiti National Day celebrations. These experiences have helped me stay connected to my Indian roots while embracing the culture of Kuwait.

Socially, living in a multicultural society has given me the chance to meet people from different backgrounds and learn about their traditions and lifestyles. This diversity has taught me to be more understanding and respectful of differences. Celebrating festivals from different cultures with friends has been one of the most enjoyable parts of my life in Kuwait. I feel lucky to be part of a community that encourages harmony and unity among people from different nationalities.
Kuwait has given me a sense of belonging and security. The country’s warmth and hospitality make it a wonderful place to live. Though I miss India—the bustling streets, spicy food, and spending time with my extended family—Kuwait has given me experiences that has enriched my life.

Looking back, I realize how much I have grown because of my life in Kuwait. It has made me more confident, independent, and open to the world around me.

No matter where life takes me in the future, Kuwait will always be a part of my identity—a place that helped shape who I am today and will always hold a special place in my heart—my second home, Kuwait.
