Kuwait - My second home

Wednesday, February 22, 2023

Yes, despite being a pure-blooded South Indian, Kuwait is truly my second home. As they go by this cliché quote – ‘’A house is not a home’’ and, to agree, Kuwait has been my birthplace and I’ve spent my the entirety of my life here so far. Despite the fact, that Kuwait has a lot of riches to be proud of I think there is much more to Kuwait that is rarely broadcasted in News Headlines. And trust me on this one Kuwait is far more than just its riches.
To be open and real with raw honesty, Kuwait has been the best place for accepting expats compared to many countries around the world. The most wonderful thing about Kuwait is how it is tax-free and water and electricity bills don’t quickly drain your bank accounts. Most of the public holidays here talk about hospitability and preach generosity and being contentful.

Being a girl in Kuwait , and I’m sure most women can agree with me is how it is a really safe place to live and be outside during the night. I’ve never felt alienated in public spaces and you can blend in really easily in public spaces without being stared at. If we flip over to the page talking about weather conditions, yes summers here a dreadful but honestly let’s admit we are mostly exposed to spaces with air conditioning alongside being surrounded by beaches [ obviously as Kuwait is a Peninsula] to visit at any time of the day and year. Power cuts are really rare and occur barely once or twice throughout the year with constant power and water supply making working days more efficient without any technical obstructions. Harsh weather threats are really rare and water-borne diseases or diseases due to climate is very rare. Kuwait manages public cleanliness and municipality keeping in mind the health of the residents and strict traffic laws ensuring safe and smooth roads to drive on with highly sophisticated and vigilant traffic police.

Resources are easily accessible here with good facilities for starting business and entrepreneurship here. Apart from that, we get really easily accessible and advanced medical facilities with imported medical equipment for top-quality treatment. Apart from this we students are truly blessed with the large number of Indian schools, surrounded with Indian friends and community, and having the freedom to learn about our country and its heritage and identify ourselves whilst paying homage to the land we inherit.

With a greatful heart, I can truly assure you that Kuwait has been my home and will always be as I am blessed to live in a country as peaceful and divine as this land. Kuwait has far more milestones to reach on the 24th and 25th National and Liberation day let us regard Kuwait with our hearts filled with gratitude.

SHUKRAN KUWAIT !!
