Kuwait - The Pearl of the Orient.

Wednesday, February 15, 2023

Located in the Middle East, at the very tip of the Persian Gulf lies Kuwait whose aura and charm is like no other. In this unique country, one can encounter its splendid culture that is a mx of old and new, whether it be the unending terrain of deserts or its extravagant cities. As many already know, Kuwait’s oil reserves are famous and highly sought-after. It produces 6% of the world’s total oil production and provided three million barrels in 2017. Kuwait was once also ranked the fifth richest country in the world. Kuwait’s economy is noteworthy since it doesn’t consist of various diversified sectors that contribute to it. Life here is rushed and the culture is truly one of a kind. There are many expats and immigrants here as well. In fact, migrant workers contribute a significant portion of the population contributing to the fact that Kuwait has many job offers and opportunities and is welcome to new comers.

Kuwait has a deep and respectable history that has formed the country for what it is today. On the account of expats, there is a wide variety of expat clubs for women to join, like the ‘American Women’s League’ and the ‘British Ladies Society’, among others. They’re open to people and have regular gatherings. The younger generation here is more open to expats, thereby helping in bringing new arrivals who yearn to learn more about Kuwaiti culture. Nonetheless, there are tons of activities to experience like camel racing which is immensely popular in Kuwait, binding with the climate and amounts of camels. These camels are seen in colourful Arabian attire to attract viewers. The cuisine of this little nation is astronomical and will leave you wanting more. Kuwait is certainly a suitable place to live your life comfortably as healthcare here is free and no taxes need to be paid unlike some other countries. High salaries are also paid since the country has the highest-valued currency in the world. We can also find many different private schools owned by people with different cultures and backgrounds, allowing different people to bond together. There are also several different colleges for students to choose from, meaning expat children do not have to travel abroad for higher studies or education.

“The nation is not the land- it is the people. In transforming people and acknowledging one’s history, one shall have a great nation.”
