Thank you Kuwait from Frontliners

Wednesday, February 23, 2022

Hopefully as we see light at the end of the tunnel and a probable end to a deadly pandemic, what has differentiated Kuwait from the rest of the world is its incessant support extended to the frontline warriors over the past months.

The world saw a very challenging and tumultuous 2020-21, defined by what would likely be the biggest health care crisis of our lifetime and during this period millions of doctors, nurses and caregivers have demonstrated courage, compassion and selflessness in the fight against Covid-19.

The pandemic has exposed the world to a very big crisis including emotional, physical as well as financial and Kuwait was no exception.

Medical professionals faced innumerable challenges working as frontliners while continuously at risk of contracting the infection or becoming carriers of the disease for people at home or the neighbourhood. However, the commitment and proactiveness of the Kuwait Government and the Ministry of Health in particular right from the beginning requires special appreciation - setting up Covid centres, enforcing strict Covid protocols, calling for lockdowns as and when required as well as simultaneously rolling out the much-needed vaccination for every single individual. This was only possible because of the commitment of His Excellency, the Emir of Kuwait and the support of the entire Kuwait Government.

On behalf of all the Indian Doctors in Kuwait, I, Dr.Susovana Sujit Nair (Community Secretary, IDF) take this opportunity to thank His Excellency and the Government of Kuwait for the incessant support provided to every single expatriate individual residing here. May Almighty bless His Excellency and all the people in Kuwait with a very long and healthy life.

Despite all odds, His Excellency and the Government of Kuwait went a step further to appreciate the dedication and hard work of all the frontliners during the pandemic and ensured that every frontliner gets a financial reward in the form of a bonus for having served the community during the very challenging times. We, the frontliners are extremely overwhelmed and humbled by the gesture of the Government of Kuwait and can't thank His Excellency and the Government of Kuwait enough for your generosity.

When we talk about the Indian Community, our Embassy has been on the forefront of everything during the pandemic. His Excellency, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait and the officials of the Embassy require special thanks and appreciation for all their efforts during the pandemic. Our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks go out to all the Embassy officials who have been directly or indirectly a part of the fight against Covid-19.

All of us are optimistic and confident that together we can advance the pace of fighting this battle.
