Kuwait – My second Mother

Tuesday, February 15, 2022

I have always been curious about relationship between countries. Some countries share friendly bonds between them. And Kuwait and India have been sharing such a bilateral relationship for years. Both the countries share friendly ties. Their relationship started in the month of June, 1962 when Yacoub Abdulaziz al-Rasheed was appointed as the first Kuwaiti ambassador to India. Kuwait was one among the first to extend its helping hand to India during the indo-china war. Mumbai, then known as Bombay was a hub for many Kuwaiti businesses.

Kuwait also shelters almost 640,000 people of India. The country also employees many Indians in different fields. This tells a lot about the relationship between these two countries.

As an Indian living in Kuwait, I have never had my freedom curtailed or curbed. Though I am not a citizen of Kuwait, I have always considered it as my second mother. I still remember how I used to pay tribute to the Kuwait national anthem and songs of Kuwait when being played in school assemblies. I have always felt a sense of pride whenever Kuwait did well internationally.

I love not only the iconic landmarks of Kuwait but also its food and culture. For instance, some of the best memories of my childhood in Kuwait are associated with (the times of hala February, KDD icecreams, beach, Kuwait tower, kababs, shawarmas, parks, liberation tower )???

I am very grateful to Kuwait – my second mother who has helped in every step of my life. And I also thank India – my motherland for giving me the opportunity to live in Kuwait. The moments I have spent in Kuwait will always be the best memories of my life.
