India’s Advancement in Digital Technology for the Common Man

India is known for its traditional values, culture, and customs. The country has emerged as an economic powerhouse in recent years. The unprecedented growth and advancement in digital technology have made it a major player in the global sphere. As a responsible upcoming global major economy, India has been working to harness the full potential of digital technology.

Digital technology has become so integrated into our daily lives in India that street vendors, taxi drivers, and shopkeepers are using online payment methods (Paytm, RuPay, UPI, PhonePe) making cash through it. None in the billion-plus population is left untouched by the digital wave, in almost all aspects of life. Digital technology has enabled citizens to access various government services easily, efficiently, and securely. The government has adopted digital technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, to streamline tax and other government filings. The Indian government is working on digital currency via blockchain technology. Indian payment mechanisms such as UPI and RuPay have got great acceptance in friendly and neighboring nations and have an increasing reach across the globe, and are parallel to Visa and Mastercard payment methods.

Similarly, the government launched the Digital India program to facilitate access to digital services for citizens. This includes programs such as digitizing land records and official documents, establishing e-governance systems, and providing access to digital infrastructure. Indian Government to provide a range of services to citizens more easily. India has been evolving digitally since long and especially with the advent of Jio since 2016, it has been an internet revolution in India. People in the poorest of villages have dual-sim mobile phones now easy access to the internet. They are also learning how to use UPI payment apps such as BHIM/postal payment banks. Smartphone sales have increased drastically and almost every Indian jumped from 2G/ 3G to 4G.

Digital revolution is all regarding development for better tomorrow . This change can have a influential impact in different ways on different societies , economies , and above all humanity. Not only that, but digitalization also modified the way information is scattered across different sectors of the globe. Giving grounds for businesses to move forward beyond the national markets to other markets, thereby leading international markets, and enhancing the interconnection of the world.
