India’s advancement in digital technology has taken a great leap. The country is currently having a strong focus on science and technology, realizing that it is a key element for economic growth. India’s economy has grown substantially with the help of internet and technological gadgets like smartphones, laptops etc…

The government of India has introduced multiple policies aimed at projecting India as a science and technology powerhouse and promoting both public and private sector involvement.

On 1st July 2015 the government of India launched a massive campaign named “Digital India”. The main aim of this campaign is to make good use of technology and expand high-speed internet network to remote areas of the country.

There are many advantages that come from advancement in digital technology. Access to services has improved and services can now be done from anywhere given that the user has permitted access and there is sufficient internet connection. Interaction and transactions of businesses is now much easier for common man. It also has reduced time taken to get things done as the entire system becomes faster and the process is quicker.

During the covid-19 period, people did not prefer hand to hand transaction, so UPI apps such as PhonePe, Paytm, Google pay etc. came into use, which are extremely user-friendly and do not take much time to set up.

Transportation and moving from one place to another is made easier after the introduction of mobility apps such as Uber and Ola that allow user to book cabs and taxis online.

Even the streetside/pushcart vendors are having a mobile phone. Many of them take orders over phone and subsequently deliver to the customers. Service providers like carpenters use their mobile phones to share product designs etc.

It is evident that the impact of digital advancement is of huge significance on India’s growth. India’s technological and digital initiatives have transformed the lives of people. It is now important to take the movement forward with the same motive, developing appropriate systems leading to the mass adoption of digital technologies. The advancements will increase in the years to come and lead to better quality of life in India.
