Happy Republic Day

Though India was a free country by August 15th, 1947, the country became a republic on Jan 26, 1950. In a republic, citizens have the right to choose their own leader. Republic day is the day when the Indian constitution replaced the India Act in 1935 as its governing document. The constitution was drafted and created by highly experienced team members led by Dr. Br Ambedkar. The members met and debated laws in assemblies for a period of 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days. Finally, on the Republic day the Indian constitution was the law of all Indian lands. Happy republic day!
