Republic Day of India

India is my mother land. I'm proud to say that my country is a republic.
When I asked my Mother what a Republic Country means, she explained that people hold supreme power and elect their representatives. Though I completely didn't understand the explanation, I understood that common people like me have an important role to play in the Country's Governance.
When I visited India during vacation, I observed that people lived in harmony. I had many neighbours of different religions and all of them shared a cordial bond. I used to play with them. One day while watching TV news I asked my Grandmother what's an election. My grandmother explained to me about the voting process and different parties in India. She also told me that we are free to cast our vote to the person we like. When I told her that I also want to take part in it, she told me to wait until I turn 18. I can't wait to cast my first vote. I'm so excited.
My father says that voting is our right. We should not miss that. I'm waiting for my turn. During my vacation I also saw hoardings of many parties. It is fun to see those colorful hoardings. Overall, my visit to India made me love my country a lot more.
Best Wishes,
