India and its increasing Medal Tally in the Olympics

From Paris 1900 to Tokyo 2020 , India's tryst with Olympics spans over a hundred years . India finished 48th on the medal tally in Tokyo , its highest ranking in over four decades . From 1928 to 2004 India has not exceeded more than 2 medals in the Olympics , but in the last 15 years India has seen a significant increase in the medal tally . Participation of women from India in the Olympics has also increased from 2.2% in 1900 to 47% in 2020 Tokyo Olympics .
Medal tally :
3 medals in 2008
6 medals in 2012
2 medals in 2016
And 7 medals in 2020

Not only did India win 7 medals , but also in 6 diff categories setting another record .
Athletics ,Wrestling ,Weightlifting ,Badminton ,Boxing and Hockey , the total medals at the Tokyo Olympics is 7 with 1 Gold ,2 Silvers and 4 Bronzes including one Bronze medal by our spectacular Hockey team .
India's medal tally reaches 40 with 30 Gold🥇 , 11 Silver 🥈and 16 Bronze🥉 medals .
This shows the emergence of talented athletes and sportspersons over the years in India , these athletes have given a great inspiration to the growing generation of our India
