The Republic Day

January 26 is our Republic Day. We celebrate it every year. It was on this day in 1950, that India became a Sovereign Democractic Republic and had a constitution of her own. The Republic Day is celebrated all over the country with great pomp and show. In Delhi it is celebrated amidst great enthusiasm and joy. A special parade is held on this day. Early in the morning people begin to assemble at Rajpath and other ‘places, from Rajpath to Red Fort to watch the parade. The President of India takes the salute.

A procession starts from Vijay Chowk. All the three wings of armed forcestake part in the parade. There is a display of tanks, big guns and other weapons of war. Military bands play different tunes. N.C.C cadets and the police also participate in the parade.
They are followed tableaux from the different states. They depict a true picture of the life and customs of the people of the respective state and the progress they have made after independence.

Folk dances are held. The dancers sing and play on various instruments. Boys and girls of local colleges and school research in procession and sing national song.
There is a colorful fly-past by different types of aeroplanes. Rose petals are showered from the air and a trail of saffron, white and green, the colors of the National Flag, is left behind. Balloons of these colors float in the air.

We pay our regard to the country’s martyr.At night all the government buildings are illuminated and the people move out to watch the beautiful sight.
We the future of India, its children all ready to make the nation smarter.Let us salute of our bravery soldiers.
Freedom in the mind, Strength in the words, Pureness in our blood, Pride in our souls, Zeal in our hearts,
Let’s salute our India on Republic Day.
