Republic Day marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26th January 1950, supplanting the Government of India Act as the governing deed of India and thus, turning the nation into a newly shaped republic.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar led a constitutional drafting committee on August 28, 1947. After drafting, it was offered to the Constituent Assembly on November 4, 1947. This entire practice was very sophisticated and took up to 166 days to complete. Furthermore, the committee structured conferences were kept open to the public. No matter the trials and adversities, our constitutional committee strained their outright greatest to comprise rights for all. It was directed to construct the seamless balance so all citizens of the country could enjoy equal rights concerning to their religions, culture, caste and further. Finally, they offered the authorized Indian constitution to the country on January 26, 1950.

Republic Day is celebrated all over India with great indulgence and ecstasy. It’s a day to honor the Constitution of self-governing India. Our National flag is hoisted in schools and colleges. Cultural proceedings advocating India’s struggle for freedom is held countrywide. In New Delhi, the national flag is hoisted by the President of India at India Gate. The grandeur of parades takes place at Rajpath, New Delhi. The parade is conducted by the Indian President and is systematized by the Ministry of Defense. Other than exhibiting its military expertise, the event also endorses India’s diverse culture. The event also colonizes to the martyrs who have forfeited their lives for the country. The Prime Minister of India tributes the martyrs by placing a ringlet at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate. It’s trailed by a 21-gun salute, national flag hoisting, and national anthem. Rewards are presented to the brave soldiers in the form of Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Vir Chakra. Even children and common citizens who have demonstrated audacity in times of adversity are privileged with awards.

The chauvinistic zeal of the folks on this day conveys the whole country together with all their cultural diversities. Every part of the country partakes in the juncture, which makes Republic Day the most popular of all the national holidays of India.

In consideration of this great day we on our part must show our heartfelt acknowledgement and obligation to all those who are involved in making our lives as the way we are living today. From our constitution creators, who aided the freedom of religion, caste, gender etc. that we enjoy, to the soldiers who struggle day and night for our peace, and the innumerous people who help us achieve the growth and prosperity that sparkle in our world.
