A Day for Laws – Republic Day

Republic is celebrated on 26th January in India. On this day in 1950 , our constitution came to effect.
The Republic Day is celebrated at Red Fort in New Delhi. This day , the President of India hoist Indian flag near India Gate and the Prime Minister of India lays a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, in the memory of people who surrendered their life for the country. At school, college and other government places , It celebrated on with great enthusiasm.

The Beating Retreat Ceremony is held on 29th January. The Three band of the three wings of military: The Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force performs the tradition.

The people on this day bring the whole country together with all their cultural diversities. This all makes, Republic Day a special occasion in Indian History.
