Accamma Cherian was an independent activist from Kerala. At a time when women in India stayed under the veil, she not only completed her high-school education but also had two degrees to her credit. Accamma had been imprisoned twice during her struggle for independence. She was not only the face of state congress in the Kingdom of Travancore but was also hailed as ‘The Jhansi Rani of Travancore’ by Mahatma Gandhi. She was a brave hearted leader how asked the British authorities to shoot her first instead of her people. Accamma Cherian was a freedom fighter from Kerala who led the freedom march for Kerala.

Freedom fighters made our country Independent .They gave up their lives so that we can have bright future free from Colonization.
