India our native country,

Now it is forever free,

Seventy eight followers and Gandhi,

They marched alone to Dandi,

So they could break the salt law,

And end the major British flaw,

Freedom could be won by non-violence and non-cooperation,

They used it even in the worst situation,

The country which we are proud of,

Has given us so much to think of,

Its beautiful lakes and mountains,

Its pretty rivers and fountains,

Its wonderful heritage and cultures,

Its artistic stone sculptures,

Even when we are out of the country,

We can only think of its beautiful palm trees,

India our native country,

Now it is forever free.
