Indians top the number of workers in Kuwait; 18,464 new workers came by end of second quarter

Indians top the number of workers in Kuwait as the labor market sectors received 18,464 new workers from India according to the latest statistics from the Central Administration of Statistics by the end of the second quarter of this year on June 30. The total number of Indian workers is 537,430.

Egyptian workers recorded a decline of 8,288 workers, with a total of 474,102 workers, compared to 482,390 workers at the end of the second quarter of last year, but it maintained its position as the second top nationality in Kuwait.

Bangladeshi workers grew by 12,742 workers to occupy fourth place, after Kuwaiti workers, with a total of 180,017 workers, while Nepalese workers occupied fifth place with an increase of 14,886 workers to reach a total of 86,489 workers.

Pakistani workers came in sixth place, with a slight increase in their numbers, followed by Filipinos, who witnessed a decline with 2,946 workers leaving the labor market, then Syrians, who also lost 1,490 workers from the market, then Jordanians, who increased by 1,563 workers. In tenth place is Sri Lankans, who increased by 3,350 workers.

4,531 male and female Kuwaiti citizens entered the labour market, both private and public sector, during this period, as the number of citizen employed reached 451,595 by the end of the second quarter of this year on June 30, 2024, compared to 447,064 in the second quarter of last year.
