Jaadui Pitara is an initiative introduced by CBSE in collaboration with NCERT as a play-based learning tool aimed at enhancing the educational experience for children in the foundational stage ages (3-8). This project was introduced in February 2023, aligning with the National Curriculum Framework for foundational stage (NCF – FS).

Jaadui Pitara was inaugurated at New Indian School (Kindergarten wing) on 1st October by Ms. Anoud Mubarak Abdullah Al Maataoq, the Administrative and Academic Supervisor for all the non-Arabic schools of the Aljeri group, in the presence of NIS principal Mrs. Anita Sadanand, vice principal Mrs.Jeya Ananthi, teachers and students.

The principal Mrs. Anita Sadanand appreciated teachers’ creativity, versatility and hard work as the centre of the attraction was fifty-three (53) handmade toys made by the teachers. All toys were designed and constructed in a unique blend of traditional and modern education and innovative learning methodologies which provide a holistic development to the students.

After much anticipation, the moment arrived for the grand unveiling of Jaadui Pitara toys. The children were very much amazed to see the toys.

SKIP TO GO helps children to learn skip counting with uncle John the skipper. By learning to count in intervals (such as by 2s,5s, or 10s) children begin to understand the concept of grouping numbers and repeated addition which is fundamental to multiplication. Students enjoyed skipping with uncle John the skipper.

A& AN HOUSE is an excellent toy for kindergarteners because it promotes language development in a playful and interactive way. This toy helps children build early grammar skills and boosts vocabulary. Children stuck pictures at A/AN house according to the correct articles. SUBTRACTION MACHINE helps children learn the concept of subtraction through play-based learning. This toy boosts student’s mental math too. Ice cream sticks were used by the children to perform number operations and obtain solutions. I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE………. game is a classic interactive activity for developing observational skills, language development and critical thinking. The salient feature of this toy is that the teacher can modify the game to fit classroom theme or lesson. For e.g., shapes, numbers, letters, rhymes, animals, and phonics. SPIN THE WORD helps children learn how to concatenate words using alphabet blocks. This toy enhances student’s reading skills, spellings and vocabulary. Students were very enthusiastic to find out the letters and built words.

SOUND CYLINDERS are cylindrical containers with different materials inside them that make different sounds. Here students learn how to match each cylinder with its corresponding sound partner by only using his /her auditory sense. This improves student’s concentration and problem solving skills.COLOUR SORTING machine for children is a fun interactive toy designed to help kids to identify ,categorize and organize objects based on colour. This develops early cognitive skills such as classification, logical thinking and pattern recognition.BLOOMING FLOWERS help children in learning plant anatomy, builds fine motor skills and enhances problem solving abilities.CHUPA CHUP is a fun and educational toy designed to help young learners distinguish between lowercase and upper case. This helps children to recognize letters, phonics and early reading skills. PLAY WITH NUMBERS helps students perform arithmetic operations. MATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a puzzle toy that enhances the cognitive skills of the students. VOWEL FAMILY helps children in building a strong foundation in reading, spelling, and pronunciation especially for younger learners. This enables children to speak the language more clearly. EXPLORE THE WORLD is a toy which helps the child in STEM learning. Also the child understands the roles of different vehicles in the society.

The STORY CORNER at New Indian School is really eye catching. Listening to stories help students develop their language, imagination and social skills. Also listening to stories will lay the foundation for a life-long love of reading.

Another fantastic focal point of Jaadui Pitara was PUPPET SHOW where children enjoyed the story of Raja and Rani. Students were very curious and happy to hear the story. The puppet show enhances children’s imagination, storytelling skills and promotes creativity.

Beyond the above marvellous toys at NIS MAGIC CHEST other toys were also displayed.They were My house,Puzzles,Tick-Tock,Life cycle of a butterfly,Lace the holes,Spinning wheel,Geometrical animals,pegging,Hiding the car,Healthy and Unhealthy food,Family tree,Let’s find the ball,puzzle corner,Meet you every year,Alternations of generations,Mud crockery,Memory game,Candy house,Aim the numbers,Addition machine,Number dices,Community helpers,See-saw,Hide and seek with numbers,Scavenger hunt,Beat the drums,Calender,Stars counting,Traffic signals,Up and down,Animal kingdom,Hide and seek with numbers,Shapes,Aim the numbers,puppet corner,Aim the colours,Body parts,Big-ger-gest,Spinning toys.
