On the Moon, Fifty Years Back, and To Be Once More
Thursday, July 18, 2024
It was after the Second World War. It was Cold War time. Once allies, USA and USSR, were now fighting among themselves. Around this very time, the USSR put the Sputnik 1 in space, as the first satellite launched by man. History had been made, and it was to be made again, with the launch of Yuri Gagarin into space. Russian man had become the first in space!
USA found itself losing this race in space. John F Kennedy, the President of the Union, promised to the world and the nation, that before the decade saw its last day, American man would be on the Moon, and back to Earth safely.
Much hard work was put in, and precious souls ceased to exist in our world, but the USA never gave up. President John F Kennedy, too slept his last on the earth, before he could see his dream come true.
But it was to be. Man was to touch the Moon, and that man would be from the nation of America. In July, 1969, Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon followed by Edwin Aldrin. USA had become the first nation on the Moon.
Years passed, and other nations too reached the Moon.
In 2023, the cradle of mankind, that is India, became the first on the South Pole of the Moon.
USA gears up with the Artemis Mission, to return man after fifty years back to the moon.
