Farewell Ceremony for Class XII 2023-2024 Held at Indian Public School

The Students of Class XI hosted a memorable and remarkable farewell ceremony for the students of Class XII on Saturday, 27th January 2024 at the School auditorium. It is a wistful moment for the faculty to watch the students complete their journey and leave the school premises as young men and women ready to face the world. Bidding them farewell is no easy task, the bond that is strengthened over the years can’t be easily overlooked. The day was etched into the minds of everyone with heartfelt speeches, electrifying dances and mellifluous duets.
The programme started with the Kuwait National anthem, which was followed by the prayer in English and Arabic. The welcome address was delivered by PGT Economics Mr Samuel Hany. The candle light ceremony, symbolizing knowledge was performed in the most solemn manner. The Principal and teachers lit the candles and gave their blessing to the outgoing batch of 2023-2024. The light was then passed on to the students of Class XI. Everyone joined the school chair as they sang ‘Light of the World’ which reverberated incessantly in the heart and soul of all present.
The Teacher’s address was delivered by Mrs Veena Ann Varghese, the class teacher of XII A. she defined the occasion as a bitter-sweet one as the dear students will be missed. It was followed by a medley of popular songs invoking memories sung by Ayesha Ridha and Sereen of Class XI. The student representatives of various classes of XII gave their speech on behalf of their classes, reflecting their gratitude towards the alma mater. There were a lot of fun games for the students which they zestfully participated in. The dance performance by the boys and girls of Class XI was a real display of grace, rhythm, energy and talent. The finale for the dance was the surprise entry of teachers who elegantly performed to the tunes of a cinematic number. The Principal also joined in the merriment, making it a truly unforgettable event.
The audience was taken through the memory lane with a wonderful video presentation of the moments captured on camera. The students were awarded mementoes by the Principal and teachers. The students who excelled in sports were given the sports achievement award. The Principal Mrs Lucy A Cherian gave a few life lessons in her address which was received with applause by the students. She exhorted the heroes and heroines to uphold the values learnt at school and face the world with confidence.
The Vice- Principal Mr Anil Kumar proposed the vote of thanks and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all those who strived to make the ceremony a resounding success. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the Indian national anthem. Then it was time for lights and camera as the students tried to capture their moments along with their friends and teachers.
